The ideal candidate will have substantial exposure to monthly closing processes, forecasting and budgeting, and customer billing. They will be organized and approach each issue with an analytical mindset.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The senior staff accountant is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of monthly financial statements and financial analysis for the organization.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare monthly journal entries in accordance with GAAP
• Assist with the management and reconciliation of the general ledger
• Compile monthly balance sheet supporting documentation and assist with P&L review
• Manage the fixed asset system including capital expenditures and policies
• Prepare/Update standard operating procedures and the internal control structure
• File Sales and Use Tax Returns (monthly, quarterly, and annual filings)
• Perform monthly inventory process
• Perform internal audit processes
• Perform financial analysis activities such as product profitability, cost accounting duties, etc.
• Assist with the preparation and distribution of weekly/monthly financials
• Assist with preparation of schedules and working papers for annual financial statement audits
• Assist with special projects as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Minimum 3 years relevant accounting experience
• Experience with ERP systems
• Strong knowledge of Excel formulas and functions to manipulate data
• Knowledge of MAS 500 software preferred
• Knowledge of basic sales tax regulations preferred
• Ability to work with all levels of employees
• Strong analytical problem solving skills
• Demonstrate a high level of professionalism at all times
• Strong organizational skills with a keen ability to prioritize and multi-task
• Ability to adhere to and meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently with little supervision
• Ability to handle and maintain sensitive and confidential information
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

• This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
• Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
• Requires sitting for long periods of time.
• Requires repetitive movement.

COMPENSATION:

Salaried/Exempt $70,000-$80,000/year. Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications and experience.
